Our tours are all-inclusive, we don’t like hidden cost so we don’t have any!
This means that once you have booked your tour you can be sure of the knowledge that there are no hidden costs once you arrive. All of your accommodation, meals, transport and activities are included. We are able to cater to vegetarian and gluten free diets, if this is required please inform us at the time of booking so we can make the necessary arrangements.
All activities are included in the price apart from instances where there is more than one option to choose from (ie the Bay of Islands during the Northland Voyager tour). This is designed so that you can customise your tour to suit your preferences and to save money if you wish. Where there is more than one option available, the activities will be outlined in the itinerary and you can make your choices at the time of booking. You are able to choose extra activities during the tour, subject to availability.
Your tour will be accompanied by our wonderful guides, all of our guides are experienced, friendly, knowledgeable locals who provide our legendary Kiwi hospitality, and will go out of their way to ensure you have a truly unforgettable tour.
Alcohol: The only thing that is not included in our tour price is any alcoholic beverages you may wish to consume during your time with us.
If for any reason you cancel your reservation, or do not show for your scheduled tour departure at the agreed time the following conditions will apply:

Payment by credit card will incur an extra 3% charge of the tour cost.
You are able to reschedule your tour to a different date for free outside of 35 days from the departure date, however if you reschedule within 35 days of the departure date of the tour there is a $200 NZD charge per person.
If you have booked through a third-party agent, please be aware their cancellation policy may differ from our own, be sure to check their particular terms and conditions including the cancellation policy.
We make every effort to ensure the health and safety of our participants. However, participants must accept that all tours involve an element of personal risk and are of a potentially hazardous and unpredictable nature.
We contract with a network of other service and activity providers to assist in the running of our tours and as an agent for these third parties, we are not responsible for the acts and omissions of these third parties.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
When flying to New Zealand most airlines allow one piece of check in luggage (suitcase, large backpack etc.) and one or two small items of hand luggage. We base our storage capacity within our vehicles on this so if you plan on bringing more luggage than this please inform us in advance. Sole Ventures will not be responsible for the loss or damage of personal effects under any circumstances.
Government regulations do not allow smoking in large passenger vehicles. Smoking inside any accommodations is not allowed but some accommodations may have designated smoking areas outside.
We recommend you purchase travel insurance at the time that the balance of your booking fee payment is due to provide cover against, amongst other things, personal accident, death, medical expenses and emergency repatriation, loss of deposits, cancellation charges, loss of luggage and personal effects, medical expenses, theft and personal liability.
Sole Ventures cater to a large variety of participants, however we do require participants to be at least aged 18 at the time of travel; anyone older than that is more than welcome on our tours. Keeping in mind that during our tours, we will spend a lot of time in the outdoors, a moderate level of fitness is required so if you are concerned, due to your age or fitness, that our tours may not be for you, please don’t hesitate to contact us so we can discuss your options. Sole Ventures must be advised of any pre-medical conditions that may affect your participation on our tour at the time of booking. If you do have any pre-medical conditions you must provide a medical certificate, confirming you are fit to participate on the tour. We cannot provide any medication so please bring all required medication with you.
Sole Ventures makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of information on our website and via any forms of advertising but unfortunately errors can occur. Therefore, we urge you to check the details and price of your chosen arrangements with us upon booking, some information may have changed by the time you come to book. Any photographs or video taken on tour by Sole Ventures staff, including photos and video with participants, may be used by Sole Ventures for promotion work and advertising, including our website and social media as mediums. You specifically authorise us to use such materials for these purposes.
Itineraries are correct at the time of publishing but occasionally our itineraries can change as we update our tours based on participant research. If due to any unforeseen circumstances we are unable to provide an activity or service we will do our best to ensure a suitable alternative is offered.
If you wish to raise any issue regarding our products or services, please advise your guide at the time. If your issue is not resolved please contact us via email (email@example.com) as soon as reasonably possible so we work through your concerns. Please note we will not consider any dispute claims more than 60 days after tour has ended.
In travelling with Sole Ventures, you agree to accept the advice and comply with the reasonable requirements of your guides and accept their decisions. We reserve the right to decline continued participation by a participant if his or her behaviour is deemed by us to be unsafe or inappropriate at any time during the tour on the basis that our staff are entitled to a safe working environment and you and other participants are entitled to enjoy your tour with us to the fullest extent possible. No refunds will be given to a participant who is asked to leave the tour due to their behaviour. Participants who are requested to leave the tour are responsible for their travel arrangements from the time that they are asked to leave.
No participant will be permitted to embark or continue with their tour if any representative of Sole Ventures, acting reasonably, believes that their physical or mental condition renders them incapable of safe conduct, or as being a potential hazard to themselves or other participants. Sole Ventures will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by a participant due to that participant being precluded from the tour for any of these reasons.
Sole Ventures tours have a maximum of 14 participants; this is to ensure a fun, safe environment that allows us the freedom to ensure you enjoy your holiday with us. Each tour requires a minimum number of 2 participants to operate. We will make every effort to inform you as far in advance as possible of the cancellation of any tour and offer a free change of date or a full refund of your money. We will only be able to refund the tour cost in full, we cannot refund any other travel expenses you have incurred outside of the products we offer.
We will not be in breach of this agreement if the breach was caused by any unforeseen circumstances that are beyond our control. No refunds will be given in the event of any delay, curtailment or alteration of any trip resulting from cause including, but not limited to, severe weather, natural disaster or mechanical failure. Itineraries are subject to alteration without notice and are intended as a guide only.
During our tours, we work with other local persons and entities to provide you with the best experience possible. Wherever possible we work with small, local, family run providers that are as passionate and invested as we are in ensuring you have the best experience possible. All of our other providers follow all necessary health and safety precautions and offer the same high standards as Sole Ventures.
The majority of our accommodation providers are small, local businesses with many of them being family run. We try to use retreats, lodges, cabins and chalets with privately attached facilities wherever possible to ensure you have the most comfortable and authentic stay possible. We do not charge a forced single supplement, instead we will try to pair you up with someone of the same sex to share rooms with. However if you are travelling alone and do wish to have your own rooms, you can pay a fee to ensure your own private rooms throughout the tour. In some instances, you will still be sharing a chalet, lodge or apartment with others, but your room will be separate.
If you sustain any injury whilst in New Zealand, ACC may be able to help with the cost of treatment and support while you are here but we make no representation to you that this will occur. It is important to note that ACC may only cover treatment/rehabilitation costs within New Zealand, it does not replace travel insurance and will not cover illness, emergency travel or disrupted travel plans. Furthermore, it is important to be aware that you cannot sue for personal injury in New Zealand – ACC replaces that right.
In making a booking through our website or through a third party agent of ours you thereby warrant to us that you have read and understood our Terms and Conditions of Engagement and that you accept the same as solely constituting the agreement that is entered between we and you.
All aspects of this agreement that we have entered into with you and the services that we provide to you, and the services and activities provided to you by other persons or entities during the tour are governed by the laws of New Zealand. We and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of New Zealand, including the New Zealand Courts of Appeal.
